Part of the Haceria Arteak team traveled from September 26 to 30 to Bagneux (France) for the 86th Camp Meeting of Trans Europe Halles, European network of cultural centers initiated by citizens and artists, of which the Association has been part since 2012.
After the celebration of the 85th Conference in Bilbao, this time the host was Le Petit cirque du Monde (PPCM) – Center for Circus Arts and Emerging Cultures, a cultural center located in the south of Paris. Although PPCM is at the heart of a disadvantaged area of the city, the organization works regionally and is recognized in a national level as a leading organization in the field of arts and culture for social inclusion.
Its initial building is an old restored Sports Center. In 2015 a new wooden construction, designed by architect Patrick Bouchain, was added which has a large circus room with capacity for more than 300 people.
During 4 days TEH members and associates met to work on different topics, define the strategy of the Network as of 2019, and keep abreast of the situations that each of the centers faces today. An important part of the content of the meeting was around the creation and development of European projects in collaboration with other centers and countries.
But not everything is work, so we could also enjoy different circus shows, including several pieces still in the creation process produced by the PPCM incubator program.
Seven new members joined the network. With the arrival of Bitamine Faktoria (Irun), Allerwelthaus (Cologne, Germany), Associazione Oltre (Bologna, Italy), Fabrica de Pensule (Cluj, Romania), Ifö Center (Bromölla, Sweden), Institute for Environmental Solutions (Priekuli, Latvia ), Meatpack (Antwerp, Belgium) we are already 119 THE members and associates.
During these days in Bagneux, we were lucky enough to meet again with several volunteers, young people who, through the Conference in Bilbao last May, got to know the network and wanted to continue collaborating actively in it.
